Holotropic Breathwork is a cathartic method for emotional release. Through controlled hyperventilation we activate the autonomous nervous system and the inner healer. Through the breath, we have the potential to relax our nervous system, because we’re getting plenty of oxygen: as we’re starting to tune in to some of this holding patterns, breath has the ability to break up some of the tension and release it. The body starts making sounds or movements that might feel unusual. This is the way of the body to get rid some of the pain, tension and stress.
