For many of us, the idea of expressing ourselves confidently in all aspects of our daily lives is a faraway dream. Or perhaps we feel fine sharing our thoughts at home, but nervous or blocked in other situations, in certain professional or personal circles. When we feel too shy or resistant to speak our truth - in words and/or in body language - an inner sense of stress can grow, impacting our physical bodies and dampen our experience of life overall. When we feel out of balance, we lose our focus and drive. In balance, we are clear-minded and creative, both at work and at play.
This 2-hour workshop - led by mindfulness teacher, mentor and corporate well-being consultant Steph Cusack - is one of the most-loved workshops within her 6-week Onward Mentorship program for teachers and individuals. Through a series of guided embodied practices and personal reflections, we learn techniques to release tension in voice and body language, understand which beliefs bring discomfort in social situations, and practice expressing ourselves in a way that feels genuine and real.
